Sandrine Pouzache, Kindergarten
Mme. Pouzache was born near Paris and moved to Grenoble when she was a teenager. After getting her bachelor's degree in Modern Literature, she earned her teacher's certification in 2000. She has been teaching children between the ages of 3 and 7 for 21 years. Now that her three children are grown, she has come to discover Louisiana.

Emilie Bonnot, Kindergarten
Mme Emilie is from Aube, to the east of Paris. All her life she wanted to be a teacher, so she followed a very direct path of study after high school. After earning a degree in History she got her teaching certificate in 2017, then worked in different schools teaching everything from Pre-K 3 to 4th Grade. She then spent four years working as the Principal of a tiny rural school with only one class, in which 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades are all together.

Céline Blanc is originally from Narbonne, France, a beautiful, colorful Mediterranean town in the south of France. She taught competitive swimming for twenty years, until, in 2016, she decided to switch over to the elementary classroom briefly before discovering that her real passion was teaching Kindergarten.
Mme Céline has always loved to travel with her husband and their two sons, meeting new people and seeing other cultures. Now that their sons are grown up, she and her husband finally get to scratch the next adventure off of their bucket list–living and working in a foreign country.

Yaëlle Pecher, 1st Grade
Mme Yaëlle comes to us from Caen, in Normandy, France. She has a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Primary Education. Since getting her teaching certificate in 2017, she has taught different elementary grades, mainly in rural areas, which she loves. She enjoys cooking, she's a genealogy enthusiast, and she loves traveling and learning more about foreign languages and cultures.

Lindsay McAnally, 1st Grade
Madame Lindsay is a Louisiana native and French Immersion alumna with a bachelor’s degree in French and Francophone Studies . She has spent time abroad exploring different Francophone cultures in places such as Nova Scotia, Canada; Normandy, France; and Wallonia, Belgium, using the foundation that French Immersion has given her. She looks forward to beginning her teaching career at École St. Landry and giving back to the Louisiana French community. Previously a professional baker and working artist , Lindsay enjoys all things creative and plans to bring that creativity into the classroom.

Aurélie Letourneur, 1st Grade
Mme Aurélie is originally from Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean. After completing her studies in Paris and earning a degree in corporate communications, she returned to her home island, where she spent 13 years working in the banking sector in communications and human resources. She then pursued a new path, spending two years as a florist and small business owner, operating her own floral studio, before passing the competitive examination to become an elementary school teacher.
Teaching has been her passion for the past eight years. Outside the classroom, Mme Aurélie enjoys staying active through trail running and yoga , but her greatest passions are in the arts. She loves dancing, singing in a choir, and playing the ukulele. Recently, she began learning the guitar , another lifelong dream she is excited to pursue. She also enjoys traveling and discovering new cultures.
Along with her family, Mme Aurélie is thrilled to embark on this exciting new adventure and looks forward to the experiences and opportunities it will bring.

Adil Baskar, 2nd Grade
M. Adil is from Choisy-le-roi in France. He has been working with children for 23 years already, and teaching for five now. He has a Master's in Primary Education and has taught mostly in very socially diverse areas, which he loves. He enjoys creating theatre projects with his students, playing sports, and photography.

Candide Wyble, 2nd Grade
Candide Wyble has been living with her husband, Huey, in Arnaudville since 2015. Together they have a son, Louis, who is 3 years old, and she is also stepmother to Huey’s older son, Matis, and his daughter, Nico, and dog-mother to their Great Dane, Fiona, and Charles, their little Dachshund. Candide and Huey love gardening and camping, and they manage the food bank in their parish.
Mme Candide began teaching Philosophy part time for the French Department of Education, but before long decided to change to teaching continuing education for adults, including teaching English as a second language to French adults. After moving to Louisiana, she continued to work remotely for nine years until she decided to branch off into elementary education. She quickly found a second home-away-from-home at École Saint-Landry. She is a gentle and kind but serious and effective teacher who enjoys tricking children into learning in the most fun and adventurous ways, like reading comic books!

Lacey Leleux, 2nd Grade
Mme Lacey is a proud French Immersion educator with 7 years of teaching experience. Her love for children first inspired her to become a teacher, but her passion for the French language is what truly captured her heart.
As a graduate of a French immersion program herself, Mme Lacey has come full circle—returning to immersion education as a teacher. She believes deeply in the power of bilingual education and is dedicated to making a lasting impact on future generations while sharing her love of learning in French.
When she’s not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children, who are also French speakers! Family trips and outings are some of her favorite ways to make memories together.

Kirby Jambon, 3rd Grade
M. Kirby is from Lafourche Parish in Southeast Louisiana and was raised by Cajun parents who were very proud of our French Louisiana culture. He has been a teacher for 37 years and has taught Elementary French Immersion classes for 28 years, as well as adult Louisiana French classes for over 20 years. He also loves the performing arts and teaches classes in youth theatre and directs plays in both French and English with Theatre Acadie
and Wonderland Academy. He has performed as an actor in both languages, and is currently the voice of Boudini in the Louisiana French animated series, Boudini et ses amis. He is also a poet and an award-winning author of three books of Louisiana French poetry.
M. Kirby loves working with young people and making people laugh, watching and reading Science Fiction and mysteries, food, festivals, and fun. He lives in Lafayette with his loving wife, Jen, and their sweet little Maltipoo, Winnie.

Alexia Guinta, 3rd Grade
Alexia Giunta was born and raised in the North of France, near Lille. She originally intended on becoming an English teacher, but after two years of study changed her major to Elementary Education. For six years now she’s been working with 2nd and 3rd graders, enjoying helping her French students discover other cultures and languages, so teaching French to American students is going to be a fun twist!
Mme Alexia’s other interests include cooking, baking, reading, and drinking tea.

Manon Delrez, 4th Grade
Manon Delrez was born and raised in the Belgian province of Liège. Her father is retired military, her mother is a radiology technician, and her little brother is an electrician, but Mme Manon knew right away that her path was in elementary education. For several years now she has been working in a school geared specifically towards the betterment of an economically disadvantaged student population. She’s appreciated being a member of such a solid team of educators.
Mme Manon loves reading and listening to music, dancing, and traveling. She also loves her apartment, which she shares with two roommates, in the city center of Liège, where she can walk anywhere she needs to go. For several years she thought about going to teach in a foreign country, but as someone with an anxious nature, it took her a while to get up the courage to take that leap. Now she’s excited to have the opportunity to experience this Louisiana adventure!

Dimitri Letourneur, 4th Grade
Monsieur Dimitri was born on Réunion Island and lived there until the age of 19 before moving to Paris to study engineering. After a successful 12-year career in information technology, he made the decision to become a teacher—a choice he considers one of the best of his life.
An avid traveler, Dimitri has explored Asia, Australia, and Africa with his family, gaining a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives. He is also passionate about sports and enjoys pushing himself through endurance challenges, including ultra-trail running, long-distance cycling , and windsurfing competitions.

Serigne Faye, 5th & 6th Grade Immersion
Moussa Sadou is a veritable rockstar on the French immersion scene in Louisiana, and has even been running his own stage at Festival International for many years now.
A native of Niger, where he worked both as a teacher and as principal of a primary school, Monsieur Sadou also worked with Peace Corps volunteers for three years, teaching them the two native languages of Niger, French, and the local culture to facilitate their integration into the surrounding villages. It was this experience that drove him to discover the United States, and he was quickly picked up by CODOFIL in 2002. He worked under the Lafayette Parish School System until 2022 and now, in his retirement from LPSS, he has decided to continue sharing his talent for teaching, and his generosity of spirit with École Saint-Landry.

Amélie Vandenbussche, 5th & 6th Grade Immersion

Mme Amélie lives in northern France, in Arras . She has been a primary school teacher since 2015 and has taught across all levels, from preschool to middle school, including inclusive education settings. She is highly adaptable and experienced in working with diverse student needs .
Alongside her teaching career, she has consistently worked in after-school programs during school holidays. She has served as an activity leader, assistant director, and since 2022, she has been the director of international summer camps for teenagers .
She enjoys traveling around the world and discovering new cultures, with a particular fondness for the United States . Teaching in Louisiana has been a long-standing dream of hers, and she is now fulfilling it .
Outside of education, she is very active and passionate about CrossFit and running . She also loves music , festivals , and considers herself a true foodie .

Katelyn Garrett, 5th Grade Late Path Immersion
A Lafayette native, Mme. Katelyn’s love of French began in kindergarten through French immersion. She continued her studies through high school before earning her degree in French from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with minors in linguistics and business. A semester at the Université de Caen in Normandy deepened both her fluency and her lifelong connection to the French language and culture.
After college, Mme. Katelyn entered the corporate world before choosing to focus on her family. It was during a year of substitute teaching at École St. Landry that she rediscovered her passion for French and her true calling of sharing that love with the next generation of French speakers.
Mme. Katelyn lives in Lafayette with her husband and their two children, who inspire her every day. Outside the classroom, she fancies herself an amateur chef , travel agent , event planner, and contractor, and loves creating experiences for friends and family through food, travel, and hosting.

Aline Michelin, 5th & 6th Grade Immersion
Mme Aline is originally from Dijon, France . She has always wanted to become a teacher. After completing a degree in Sports Science (STAPS) , she went on to earn a Master’s in Education and successfully passed her teaching certification shortly after.
She has been teaching for over 10 years , much of that experience in specialized education settings (SEGPA), where she has developed strong expertise in supporting diverse learners.
She has played rugby since high school and remains passionate about the sport. She also loves traveling and enjoys leading youth camps with teenagers, combining her love for education and adventure .

Regina Menard, Kindergarten ELA Teacher
Mrs. “Gina” was born and raised in the suburbs of New Orleans, making her way to Acadiana in 2010 to finish her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As a native of southeast Louisiana, she grew up learning about the rich French culture and language and continues to expand upon her knowledge as a resident of Acadiana. She started her journey in the teaching profession eleven years ago with most of her experience in teaching kindergarten. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, watching movies, and taking dance-aerobics/fitness classes. Mrs. Gina and her husband, Peter, reside in Lafayette with their little pup, Penny.

Brittany Benoit, 1st Grade ELA Teacher
Mrs. Brittany Benoit was born and raised south of Lafayette, Louisiana. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from UL in 2021, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from ULM in 2025, and is a certified Reading Specialist . She has experience in a variety of elementary grades and is looking forward to joining the first grade team at École! She lives in Carencro with her husband, three daughters, and two Boston Terriers . They enjoy spending time together outdoors .

Heidi Haynes, 2nd Grade ELA Teacher
Mrs. Heidi Haynes is a dedicated educator with over 10 years of teaching experience and a passion for creativity, faith, and building relationships. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
She began her teaching journey as a teaching artist with the Acadiana Center for the Arts PACE program, where she taught arts integration throughout Lafayette Parish. During this time, she also opened and operated a children's art studio in Carencro.
For the past six years, she has served at Carencro Catholic School, first as an art teacher and most recently as a second-grade teacher. She lives in Carencro with her husband and daughters.

Shelly David, 3nd Grade ELA Teacher
Mrs. Shelly's journey in education began 11 years ago as a paraprofessional. After a couple of years she realized she'd found her passion, so he enrolled in school to further her education. Upon completion, she taught Special Education, and now she will be teaching 2nd and 3rd Grade ELA at École! She lives in Opelousas with her husband, Anthony, their four children, and their son-in-law. They love camping, cooking, and spending time together.

Michele Warren, 2nd Grade ELA Teacher
Mrs. Michele Warren holds a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Education Studies from the University of North Texas, and a Master’s Plus 30 from Northwestern University.
She is a passionate educator who creates a warm, welcoming classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Mrs. Warren has experience working with students and families in a variety of roles, both inside and outside the classroom. She has also coached volleyball and softball, and moderated cheerleading.
Mrs. Warren values teamwork and believes in building strong partnerships with families to support student success. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Amanda Deville, 5th & 6th Grade ELA Teacher
Mrs. Amanda began her journey in education during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she homeschooled her special needs son while living in Virginia . Through that experience, she discovered a strong passion for teaching and supporting student growth.
After moving back to Louisiana , she made the decision to return her son to public school. Soon after, she accepted a long-term substitute position, where she quickly realized how much she enjoyed guiding students in their learning journeys .
She later became a paraprofessional, working closely with special education students . That experience confirmed that education was truly where she was meant to be. With the support and mentorship of incredible colleagues, she returned to college and was eventually given the opportunity to teach 7th and 8th grade ELA .
Mrs. Amanda is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students, creating supportive and encouraging learning environments, and helping all learners succeed .
Outside of education, she enjoys spending time with her family , relaxing on the patio , and hunting . She looks forward to beginning this new chapter at École St. Landry and continuing to grow both personally and professionally as an educator .

Nico Blanc, P.E. Teacher
Monsieur Nico is from Cahors in the south of France, where he lived until he was 17 years old. He then went to Narbonne for his studies but, more importantly to him, to play rugby at the highest national level. Following his sports career he became a coach to young rugby players while he ran his own contractor business.
He is married to Madame Céline, who teachers Kindergarten at École Saint-Landry, and father to two grown boys.

Jamie Lynn Fontenot, Music Teacher
Jamie Lynn Fontenot, born in Louisiana, holds a Master’s in Education and a Bachelor’s in French. With over ten years of experience teaching French to a diverse range of students, she is currently a certified French Immersion teacher in Lafayette Parish. She also teaches traditional Cajun French song and dance at festivals and music camps. A passionate Cajun musician, Jamie plays Cajun guitar and sings, performing across the U.S. with her band, The Daiquiri Queens. In addition, she performs with the bands Chère Elise and Prends Courage, sharing her love for Cajun culture.

Madeline DeHart, Music Teacher
Madeline DeHart is the founder and teacher of Lâche Pas - Louisiana Heritage Connections: a groundbreaking folk arts curriculum designed to bring the local culture into an educational framework. She served as the Supervisor of Fine Arts and World Languages for the Vermilion Parish School System from 2005 to 2024.
DeHart holds a Master of Arts Degree in Music Education and a plus 30 in Curriculum Supervision from McNeese State University. She taught instrumental music in grades 5 through 12 within four school districts including Texas and Louisiana.
She is an active grant writer whose proposals have earned nearly $1,000,000 in grant funding for community and educational arts programming in Vermilion Parish. Madeline is an active member of the Vermilion Arts Council serving as a board member and secretary. She is a member of the Abbeville Rotary Club and is a life member of Vermilion Junior Auxiliary.
She is also a member of Louisiana Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Educators, and Feierabend Association for Music Education. She is serving as a board member and secretary of LA-Acadie and has recently been appointed to the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL).

Lyle Alford, Learning Center Coordinator
M. Lyle is from Natchitoches, Louisiana with family origins in Sabine Parish going back 7 generations. M.Lyle has a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in French from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. In 2020 M. Lyle received the Escadrille louisiane Scholarship from CODOFIL; thus, obtaining his Masters in Teaching from Centenary College of Louisiana. He is a poet, teacher and above all a human. M. Lyle is very passionate about Francophone Louisiana and has been working in the Francolouisiana community since 2020.

Fiona Louis-Marie, Teacher's Aide, Primary Campus
Fiona holds a bachelor's degree in Language Sciences with a specialization in French Language Studies. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), with the goal of becoming a French language teacher.
She feels this internship is an incredible opportunity for her to gain valuable teaching experience, and she is excited to meet the team and her future students.

Wendy Paul, Teacher's Aide, Upper Campus
Wendy Paul was born and raised near Paris by her Haitian mother. She then left to study in Britany for her bachelor’s degree in English literature history and civilization. She plans on becoming an English teacher and this experience abroad is helping her to learn more about her future career.
Wendy likes everything related to art, traveling and cooking. Making people smile is one of her favorite things to do !
